Google Plus Local

Google Plus is a free tool all businesses and marketers should be using. If you have a local business you should register a Google Plus Local page since this is what literally puts your business on the Google map.

Do a search for any local business and you’ll see the indented results in the top position of the search engine displaying a map marker icon next to the businesses address and telephone number. These are Google Plus Local results and they help boost the ranking of any site which is correctly integrated with a Plus page.

Google Plus Local pages are very customisable and should reflect the branding of your site. It’s important to set this up.

If you cannot do this yourself, it is possible to assign a manager to do it for you. From within the Google Plus dashboard you may invite another Google account user to gain limited access to your page in order to make changes and improvements. You might have employees, staff members, partners, marketers or designers who can carry out maintenance. When they have finished the task, you can revoke their access, or if you prefer, just leave their account connected.

Make the most of Google Plus pages. They perform very well in Google search because it is a Google service. Why wouldn’t the world’s number 1 search giant favour their own services? This is why you need to piggyback on this free ride.

By the way, there are two type of Google Plus page:

Google Plus for Brands and Google Plus Local

Register a brand page if there is no address as such for your operations.

Register a local page if you have a physical location or shop. If you operate from a residential address, this is acceptable.
