WordPress Websites: How Much?
Your WordPress website needs will be discussed and a price will be quoted based on the amount of work and/or complexity. Hourly maintenance at a later date is £25 p/h.
- Expect to pay £500 – £5,000 for an informational website (one that would generate leads/enquiries for services).
- Expect to pay £1,000 – £20,000 for an Ecommerce website (one that would sell physical/virtual products).
An initial consultation is free and can be done in person or via Skype.
What Type of WordPress Will Be Built?
I build most websites using WordPress, and work with both classic themes and Gutenberg block-based themes. The latest versions of WordPress have opened up the workflow using their full site editing experience (FSE).
WordPress really is an excellent open source platform, perfect for small to medium businesses including shops, factories, construction, trades, services and just about anything else, including organisations and even government.
There are alternatives like Wix, and Squarespace but some of these mean your site is stuck on a proprietary webhost. These types of website and the webhost are the same thing.
With WordPress, you can install the site on any web host. Your choice (I normally go for something like Dreamhost, but you might have a host already, so do provide the passwords).
You can clone your WordPress website and make backups. However, Wix et al is fixed in place, with all the content is tied in with it.
WordPress has everything you need including text editors and design blocks to compose what is needed.

WooCommerce is a free eCommerce extension for WordPress and is the ideal method for creating your online shop. WooCommerce will do most of what you need it to do out-of-the-box, with with the ability to buy plugins and apps to upgrade the functionality.
Complex Requirements Require Free/Paid Plugins
It could be that you have complex shipping logistics. Maybe there are conditional requirements where one form of delivery needs to supersede another at checkout.
There are many considerations and complex requirements that can be made possible by installing certain plugins on the WordPress websites.
